It has been a year since Windows 11 was first released. Since then it has received both positive and negative comments from users and experts. Like every product, it has both advantages and disadvantages.

As we know, Windows 10 is still the most used desktop operating system in the world. Windows 10 holds almost 70% share in the desktop Windows version worldwide and Windows 11 holds almost 13%. The growth of Windows 11 is impressive as it is already the second most used Windows version.

I have analyzed both versions of the Windows operating system and I found that Windows 10 is still better than Windows 11 on various parameters. Here I am going to explain the top 8 reasons why Windows 10 is better than Windows 11.

8 Reasons Windows 10 is better than Windows 11

1. System Requirements

One of the biggest reasons people don’t like Windows 11 is its high-end system requirements. Windows 11 might not run on your current computer. To run Windows 11 on your PC you must have 64-bit Intel/AMD and Arm chips. If you have a 32-bit processor then you can not run Windows 11 operating system. So, there are high chances that you will have to buy a new PC to use Windows 11 which is very unreasonable for most users.

2. Taskbar

The taskbar in Windows 10 is better than that of Windows 11. The Windows 10 taskbar is more customizable and user-friendly.

In Windows 11 all the apps in the taskbar will be center aligned and leave a lot of space on both sides. The area is used for nothing, I don’t why Microsoft did this. The most irritating thing is when you open or close an app the start button moves. People are used to operating the start button in the left-hand corner. I can shut down my Windows 10 PC using the start button with my eyes closed.

3. The Action Center

The action center in Windows 10 is very convenient. This function in Windows 10 lets you check your notifications and see your quick settings. In Windows 11 the arrangement of the action center is not that impressive.

In Windows 10 Action center you can just click the icon of a tool and see the settings of that tool only. But it is not available in Windows 11, the tools are grouped in Windows 11 which does not look nice.

4. It Needs Time

When released in 2015 Windows 10 had some bugs and eventually, they were fixed. Similarly, Windows 11 has some known bugs. Also, there have been some hardware compatibility issues. Teams at Microsoft are continuously working to fix these bugs and trying to make Windows 11 the best operating system out there.

But at this time the work is under process and you need to wait for more time for a perfect operating system.

5. The Start Menu

In Windows 10 PC we get the best start menu ever. When you open it you get a list of useful apps. The most important thing about Windows 10 start menu is that it shows you recently used apps and frequently used apps. So, you don’t have to type the app’s name every time in the search button, most of the time you will get it in the recently used apps.

In Windows 11 you will not get this feature. Whenever you want to use the app you need to search for it through the search button. Windows 11 has replaced this feature with suggested apps that are not so relevant. I find recently used apps and frequently used apps in the start menu more convenient than the suggested apps.

Also, the apps shown in the Windows 111 start menu will not provide much info about them. But in Windows 10 we get a lot of information about the apps in the tiles.

In Windows 10, it is very easy to reach the power options so you can easily restart, shut down and sleep the computer. But in Windows 11 you will have to make extra efforts to reach these options.

The Setting App is a very useful application on the Windows operating system. In Windows 10 it is more quickly accessible than on Windows 11.

6. The Search Box

When you work on a Windows 10 computer the search box is always there for you. But this is not the case in Windows 11. To use the search box in Windows 11 you need to click on the taskbar or you can use the shortcut Windows+S. The Windows 11 search box is convenient but not as much as it is in Windows 10. In Windows 10 it feels good to have the search box in front of you to always listen to your commands.

7. Working On Tablet

I find that working on a tablet with Windows 10 is easier than working with Windows 11. There are many useful features that I like in Windows 10 that are not available in Windows 11 when it comes to tablets.

Here I am talking about the usability of the device with the operating system. When you swipe left or right on a tablet with Windows 10 operating system it brings the taskbar and action center. These applications are very useful in any Windows OS version and reaching them should be as easy as possible but in Windows 11 they have not been made easier.

An upgraded version of any product should make things easier, not difficult.

8. Other Useful Features

When there is an update in any product some new features come and some go. Users are used to seeing the old features on their screens so, when you start using the new version you will miss some old features.

Some of the useful features that you won’t find in Windows 11 are Timeline, Live Tiles, and Internet Explorer.

Conclusion

This was the complete guide on why Windows 10 is better than Windows 11. Windows 10 has been live for 8 years so it had so much time to evolve. I am sure that Windows 11 is not in its prime form. Given time Windows 11 will evolve a lot in the future. Windows 11 is already the second most popular Windows version in just 1 year. I am sure that in the future it will get better.
