How to Setup AirPods with iPhone and iPad?

The following are the ways of setup AirPods with iPhone and iPad.

1) Remove Them From Their Packaging

Finally, you are with your AirPods! Excited?

Let’s start with initials. Your AirPods comes in an elegant Apple box, just pull-tab away from unlocking its contents like the hardware equivalent of a loot box in your favourite game. They come as a pair for your left and right ears and a charging case that’s similar to a dental floss one. These AirPods are so small and light. Unfortunately, they’re easy to lose once you pop them out of their packaging. You’ll find the USB-C to Lightning charging cable for Apple’s Wireless Charging Case.

2) Charge Your AirPods

You’ll need to charge your AirPods before you start using it. For charging the AirPods, you slot them into its case and then put that case on a charge. Inside the case, there is a Lightning connector for charging it or you rest that on a Qi-compatible charging pad. It can hold eight hours of charge alongside the four hours of charge per AirPods (so, 12 hours total). The pin-point LED light inside the case glows to indicate that you’ve hit the full battery.

Remember you can’t charge up your AirPods without using the case, whether it’s a wireless charging or not.

In this way, the case and AirPods get charged together and so later, when AirPods battery gets low, you can slot them into the case to top up their charge.

3) Turn On Your Bluetooth

There is no special section for AirPods and there is no app for them as there is for the Apple Watch. For connecting your air pods, you must have Bluetooth switched on. If Bluetooth is not activated in your iOS device, open the control center and then enable it by tapping the Bluetooth icon. Then Hold your AirPods case (with AirPods inside )- few inches away from your IOS device and then open the case.

4) Activate AirPods Pairing

Pairing AirPods is as easy as in Apple’s initial demonstration. With one tap you can easily connect them. All you need is to press and hold the button on the AirPods case and Follow the onscreen configuration instructions.

Switch Connections Between Your Devices

This really is the easiest setup that Apple does, and so much so that it’s not really set up anything. Once you have configured Your ‌AirPods with your phone they are automatically linked to your iCloud account, so once you pair them with any device, your other devices know these AirPods exist. That’s because you have registered your AirPods or you can say you have linked your AirPods with iCloud account so that when next time they attach to any device which is connected to the same iCloud account, AirPods will directly pair with it. That’s why swapping connections between your IOS devices isn’t a deal at all. By going to standard Bluetooth settings, you can easily switch connections between them. There ‌AirPods‌ will be listed on any device that you’re signed into with your ‌iCloud‌ account.

For swapping connections On iOS devices, you need to do the following steps :

  • Go to Settings.
  • Select Bluetooth and tap AirPods‌.
  • On a Mac, click on Bluetooth icon (in the status bar), then choose ‌AirPods‌, and tap “Connect.”
  • On Apple TV, open up the Settings app, choose “Video and Audio,” scroll down to “Audio” tap on “Audio Output” and choose ‌AirPods they will be connected‌.

Now Playing widget in Control Center can also be used for selecting AirPods On iOS devices and on ‌Apple TV‌, you can hold down the Home button on the main ‌Apple TV‌ screen for bringing up a shortcut to audio options.

AirPods Don’t Automatically Connect on your device?

  1. Open Control Center.
  2. Tap on press the audio player (or for iOS 10, swipe from right to left to control audio).
  3. Deep press the AirPlay icon, then from the list choose the device you want.
  4. Turn Bluetooth off and then back on.

Enjoy Your AirPods

That’s all there is to it. Once this configuration process has been completed, your ‌AirPods‌ will re-pair to your iOS device whenever you open up the case lid. This re-pairing process takes just a few seconds, So your ‌AirPods‌ are ready to go whenever you pull them out.

You don’t need to go beyond these steps for starting to enjoy your new AirPods on your phone. Overall, most of our readers are thrilled with their AirPods!
